Effective October 23, 2026
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of thira.co (“Website”), operated by Sakae Holdings LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), the parent company of Thira. By accessing or using the Website—including any of its content, purchases, or bookings—you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Website.
All transactions on the Website are processed by Sakae Holdings LLC.
The Website is intended for users aged 18 and above. By using the Website, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a minor has provided personal data, we will delete it promptly.
1. Overview of Services
The Website offers editorial content, including a daily email (“The Brief”), interviews, and an archive of earlier stories; limited editions of works by artists and designers (“Editions”); bookable private visits to galleries and studios (“Private Sessions”); and guides in digital and print formats (“Guides”). Stories are free to read; Editions, Guides, and Private Sessions require a purchase or booking. We reserve the right to modify, expand, or restrict access to any portion of the Website at any time.
2. Data Collection and Privacy
Sakae Holdings LLC collects personal data including name, email address, billing and shipping information, payment data, sign in credentials, and analytics and tracking data via cookies and third-party tools including Google Analytics. Non-essential cookies require your explicit consent, managed via our consent banner.
We do not sell personal data or use it for third-party advertising. Full details on how we collect, use, store, and protect your data—and your rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA—are set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. By using the Website, you acknowledge and agree to the practices described there.
3. The Brief
The Brief is a free daily email. By signing up, you agree to receive it, along with occasional announcements about Editions, Private Sessions, and Guides. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. The Brief is provided for personal, non-commercial use and may not be republished or redistributed without written permission.
4. Accounts
An account is created when you make a purchase, so you can sign in and open the Guides you have bought. You agree to provide accurate and current information and to keep your sign-in credentials confidential. Accounts are personal and non-transferable. Sharing account access is strictly prohibited.
5. Guides
Guides are sold in digital and print formats. Digital Guides are read online, on your phone or computer, and are not downloadable. Digital purchases are final; no refunds are issued once access has been granted. If a Guide becomes permanently inaccessible due to a technical failure on our part, we may issue store credit at our discretion. Guides are updated periodically; purchase does not guarantee any particular update schedule or future revisions.
Every Guide bought in print includes access to its digital format, granted at the time of purchase. Guides in print are final sale. Delivery times, shipping costs, customs and duties, and the handling of damaged or incorrect orders are governed by our Shipping & Returns policy, which forms part of these Terms.
6. Editions
6.1 Purchase
Each Edition is produced in a limited number, stated on its product page together with its medium, dimensions, and any signing, numbering, framing, or certificate. Images on the Website are representations; minor variations in color, texture, and finish are inherent to handmade and printed work and are not defects.
Editions are final sale. Shipping, insurance, customs and duties, and the handling of damaged or incorrect orders are governed by our Shipping & Returns policy, which forms part of these Terms.
6.2 Ownership and Reproduction
Purchase of an Edition transfers ownership of the physical work only. Unless stated otherwise in writing, copyright and all reproduction rights remain with the artist or designer. Works may not be reproduced, photographed for commercial use, or used in any publication or product without the rights holder’s permission.
7. Private Sessions
7.1 Booking
Private Sessions are booked through the Website and confirmed once payment is received. Each session’s date, time, location, group size, and fee are stated at the time of booking. Guests must be 18 or older.
7.2 Cancellations and Changes
Bookings cancelled at least seven days before the session are refunded in full. Bookings cancelled within seven days of the session are non-refundable; you may transfer your place to another guest by notifying us at hello@thira.co before the session. Sessions depend on the availability of the host gallery, studio, or venue. If a session is cancelled or changed by us or the host, we will offer another date or a full refund.
7.3 Conduct
Guests agree to follow the instructions of Thira and the host, including any rules on handling works and photography. We may ask any guest whose conduct disrupts a session, or puts people or works at risk, to leave without refund.
7.4 Liability
Private Sessions take place on premises owned or operated by third parties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sakae Holdings LLC is not responsible for the condition of those premises or for loss of or damage to personal property during a session. Guests are responsible for any damage they cause to works or property.
8. Orders and Payment
All prices are listed in USD and may exclude applicable sales tax. Pricing and availability may change without notice. We may limit quantities per customer, and may decline or cancel any order, including where an item is listed in error; where we cancel, payment is refunded in full.
By placing an order, you agree to provide accurate billing and shipping details. Payment is processed via secure third-party services. Sakae Holdings LLC does not store or process credit card data directly.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Website only for lawful purposes. Prohibited activities include:
