Spring 2025, Men’s Essentials

Spring makes space. Layers loosen, fabrics lighten, and what you wear becomes less about weight and more about balance. This list isn’t exhaustive, and it’s not about trend. It’s simply what I’ve been reaching for this season — pieces that move between moments, moods, and mornings that start in a rush.

Most of these won’t change year to year — just a few subtle adjustments to keep the feeling fresh.

The Staples

JACKETS
A blue denim chore jacket from A.P.C.
A brown suede jacket from Ralph Lauren Purple Label

Each one softens with wear and feels right thrown over almost anything — casual, but not careless.

SHIRTS AND TEES
A checked shirt from Drake’s
A white-and-light-blue striped shirt from Ralph Lauren
A light blue Oxford shirt from Ralph Lauren
A denim shirt from orSlow or RRL
Polo shirts in brown, navy, and beige from Sunspel or Theory
A navy merino polo from Theory
Round-neck T-shirts in white, beige, and pastel shades
One statement shirt — maybe from Our Legacy, maybe Studio Nicholson

The kind of rotation where nothing fights for attention, but everything holds its place.

TROUSERS
Navy chinos from Uniqlo U
Beige chinos from A.P.C.
Grey trousers from P. Johnson
Blue jeans from A.P.C.
Beige relaxed pants from Theory

Enough range for a slow morning or a sharper evening — without much overthinking in between.

SHOES
Black tassel loafers, Crockett & Jones
Brown suede penny loafers, same
Sneakers: Onitsuka Tiger Tokuten, Adidas BW Army, or similar

Loafers or sneakers — both work across most combinations.

FINISHING TOUCHES

A black leather belt from Anderson’s or Hermès
A brown suede belt, same
A fragrance for the hour — Le Labo Bergamote 22 or Aesop Marrakech Intense by day; Byredo Black Saffron or Grand Soir by night
A pair of eyeglasses from Oliver Peoples or Moscot
A pair of sunglasses from Garrett Leight or Jacques Marie Mage
A tote or shoulder bag from Loro Piana or The Armoury
A soft scarf — silk or cashmere — from Begg & Co or Drake’s
A watch with a blue dial — IWC Ingenieur

⚬ Navy Polo – Beige Chino – Brown Suede Penny Loafers – Blue Denim Chore Jacket
A quiet mix of contrast and ease — shown in the featured image, and easy to repeat all season.

(Shoes in any of the above can be swapped for sneakers, depending on pace.)

⚬ White Round-neck T-shirt – Beige Relaxed Pants – Sneakers
Light and quiet — a good off-duty uniform.

⚬ Pastel Round-neck T-shirt – Beige Relaxed Pants – Sneakers
Just enough color to shift the mood.

⚬ Beige Round-neck T-shirt – Beige Relaxed Pants – Sneakers
Minimal and steady — works almost anywhere.

⚬ Navy Suit – Black Oxford Shoes
Clean and structured — useful when formality’s called for.

⚬ Brown Suit – Black Oxford Shoes
A touch warmer, but still sharp.

You don’t need much. Just a few things that feel like yours — and still make sense in April light.

Clothes that don’t demand attention, but stay reliable through changing plans. Pieces you can return to — not for novelty, but because they move at your pace.

And sometimes, that’s enough.
